I have mentioned my friend Satoko here on the blog before. She is a native of Japan, but now lives with her husband and boys here in our neighborhood. When Japan was hit by the tsunami, Satoko was understandably devastated and I was with her that day as she waited to receive phone calls about her relatives and friends. Thankfully, her family survived.
For several months now, Satoko has been making toys in preparation to open an Etsy store so that she could donate the proceeds to the Japanese Red Cross. Her store opened today! There are teddy bear and dinosaur toys made from beautiful vintage fabrics.
