Today I’m highlighting Sunrise Soap Company, a local business owned by a savvy woman named Chris. If you are looking for all-natural, handmade soaps, lotions, or other bath products, this is your go-to place.
My middle daughter, Abby, had a preschool field trip to Chris’ shop in York, PA back in the fall and I have since ordered from Sunrise Soap Company online.
In my first order I got the Spearmint, Orange, and Lime soap, and when Chis found out that I was a blogger she sent me the lip gloss and a few other soap samples to try as well. (I didn’t even tell her about the blog, but my PayPal account is named BlogU because of the BlogU Conference, so I guess it wasn’t that hard to figure out. 🙂 )
What I really like about Chris’ products is that they don’t contain any artificial ingredients or dyes and she uses essential oils to scent them.
The scent was not overwhelming, but it was pleasant and certainly noticeable. It reminded me of something you could buy at the mall.
The prices are very similar to what you would pay at a store like Bath and Body Works (a bar of essential oil soap costs $6, a bottle of lotion is $10), but the difference is that these are handmade locally, all-natural, and if you order online you can get them delivered to your door. Plus, I love supporting small businesses, especially small businesses run by women.
The lip balm (I was sent grapefruit) is made out of beeswax, cocoa butter, almond oil, and essential oils. It reminds me of Burt’s Bees lip balm, but it isn’t quite as “tingly” when applied. The lip balm is $3 per tube.
I was also very pleased with the way that the soap lathered and did not dry out my super-sensitive skin. Eddie even dubbed it “the magic soap” after he tried it. I shaved my legs with it and didn’t have any irritation.
Sunrise Soap Company also offers all-natural deodorants, lotions, shampoos and conditioners, and even bug repellant. I haven’t tried those, but they all sound very cool.
I loved that I wasn’t charged extra for shipping when I ordered off the website.
This is definitely one business that we will order from again!
A basket with a few Sunrise Soap Company products could also make a great Mother’s Day gift. (That is, if you haven’t been strongly hinting to your husband that you want some baby chickens for Mother’s Day, which I have.)
Be sure to check out Chris and her Sunrise Soaps.
Disclosure: This is not a sponsored post, as I received no compensation. I did, however, get a free lip balm and a few samples in the mail so that I could discuss the quality of the products and share these pictures with you. I am already a paying customer of Sunrise Soap Company, like their products a lot, and just wanted to share them with you.
