This cinnamon apple side dish is a favorite among my kids. It’s super easy and can be thrown together in just a few minutes. I like to serve it with chicken or pork at dinner. If there is any leftover, I put it in the kids’ oatmeal the next morning or eat it for breakfast with granola. Even if you think you can’t cook, you can still throw this one together, I promise!
- 3 apples, cored and chopped
- 2 small boxes of raisins or dried cranberries
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp butter
- Optional: chopped nuts
- Melt butter in a large skillet.
- Add apples, raisins, and nuts.
- Sprinkle cinnamon and brown sugar over the top of the apples/raisin mixture.
- Use a wooden spoon to combine and stir over medium heat for approximately ten minutes until apples are tender.
- I recommend using 1 apple for every 2 people who will be at dinner. I usually use Granny Smith apples.
