We have been snowed in for the past two weekend in a row. Everyone was going a little stir-crazy, but thankfully by Sunday afternoon the roads were clear enough that we could get out of the house. We are lucky enough to live about 40 minutes from The National Christmas Center in Paradise, PA, which claims to be the only strictly Christmas Museum in the world. (I have no idea if that is true.) So we decided to take the kids. Eddie and I had been there before on a date night a few years ago, but this was the first time for the kiddos. Nick and Abby both really loved it! Nick loved the trains and Abby loved the dolls and they both loved meeting Santa. Penny tolerated everything as best she could from her stroller.
If you ever get a chance to check it out, I highly recommend it. They have everything from a beautiful train garden, to a visit with Santa, to a 5 and 10 cent store, to a life-sized nativity walk where you get to see historical replicas of the kinds of house and streets where Jesus would have really lived. Their website really doesn’t do it any justice at all. It’s a very cool place. Think of everything you would want a Christmas museum to be. It’s just like that.
We appreciated that it is a self-guided tour, so if the kids weren’t particularly interested in something we could skip it. Conversely, if they loved something (like the trains), we could go through that exhibit three times (like the trains).
I’ll stop talking now so you can see the pretty pictures.

Beautiful place. I loved that they had a display from Burkina, Faso.
Thanks for posting this! Forgot that this place exists. Hoping to go this weekend (even though I’m sure it’ll be packed)
I thought it was going to be packed last weekend too, but it honestly wasn’t bad. There were only two families in front of us in the line to see Santa. We waited for a few minutes (maybe 5) to purchase our tickets, but after that it was smooth sailing. Have fun!
